Jeepers Creepers & Killer Klowns from Outer Space Blu-ray Debut on 9-11-12

Posted in Movie News with tags , , , , , , , , on July 24, 2012 by crow237

Jeepers Creepers is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Great to see it gets a Blu-ray release.

Not big on the art work. Too thrown together. But over all, better than the DVD cover.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space is a cult classic. This horror comedy is cheesy all the way and yet I still find it funny and enjoyable.

Artwork for it is FANTASTIC!!! One of the best covers I’ve ever seen.

Is Horror Dead?

Is horror dead?

This has bothered me for a while now. I love the horror genre but I find it lacking on creativity and freshness as of late.

I can’t be the only one that thinks the horror genre is pretty much dead. Was dying in the 70s, John Carpenter brought it back with Halloween. Which is one of my favorite movies, not just in horror. In the 90s, horror was just about dead again. It needed something. A man by the name of Wes Craven came along with Scream and horror was back.

Scream had a lot of success. And gave other horror films after that success as well. But that was 16 years ago.  And Hollywood has given up on original ideas. Sequels and remakes are all that get the green light. That needs to stop. And straight-to-DVD needs to stop. Theatrical horror needs to come back and fast.

New slasher icons for the younger generation. Not just dusting off classic faces. Leave our loved killers alone. They had a good run. Several runs in fact. And yes, I love those classic icons. But you can’t learn to really cherish them if they’re never gone.

Sorry for this random post. I just feel like it needed to be said.

We need something badly.

Cabin Fever 3 and 4 on the Way

Posted in Movie News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 31, 2011 by crow237

The flesh-eating virus will be back in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero and Cabin Fever: Outbreak.

I am a big fan of Eli Roth (directed Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hostel: Part II, acted in Inglourious Basterds). Cabin Fever was sick and gross and that’s why we all love it. There are some scenes you just have to look away from. Cabin Fever 2 wasn’t bad for not having Eli work on it. It was different but kept the sickness. Both graphic and virus related.

I am looking forward to seeing these new sequels. I hope they are done right.

From shocktillyoudrop.com

Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher, When a Stranger Calls) has signed on to pen the screenplay for Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.

When a cruise ship in the Caribbean collides with an abandoned research vessel, a deadly virus is unleashed. Passengers must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.

Cabin Fever: Outbereak is being written by Adam and Deborah Marcus (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D).

In this film a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.

Jeepers Creepers 3 Is Ready?

Posted in Movie News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on July 9, 2011 by crow237

From HorrorBid.com

According to the Salva, the third and final entry in the Creeper franchise has been ready to shoot for over seven years. Unfortunately no studio has shown any interest in funding the project thus far. If and when the movie does come out, the director then has plans to release a spin-off TV series in which he’ll be able to explore the beginnings of the Creeper character in a lot more detail. “The third Jeepers film, and I can’t tell you how it ends but it is a real show-stopper,” explains Salva. “I designed to kick off a thirteen episode season of a TV series, that explores The Creeper, his truck, and the massive ‘Cathedral’ like Creeper-lair they find in the third film.”

“It has come close several times to going before cameras, and I hope someone sees the wisdom in shooting this, the third and final Creeper tale, I still can’t tell you what the fate of this third film will be. According to IMBD we are already filming – I guess they started without any of us!”

Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral is set to take place twenty years into the future and it will reunite Ray Wise with Jonathan Breck and possibly Gina Phillips as well. Stay tuned for more details.

Jeepers Creepers 3 News

What your about to read I’ve known for years now. Victor Salva (Director & Writer of Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2) told me all about his ideas with the 3rd film way before the info made it to the internet. It’s one of the coolest stories I have to tell.

From Fangoria.com

FANG: With MGM out of bankruptcy, do you see JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 on the horizon?

SALVA: Though I have been beating this drum for so long that people have started not to believe me, I am told they are very close to closing a financing deal for the third film in the trilogy. So I want to say yes, but let’s not jinx it by saying any more. My script for the film, which was written some time ago, sets up a TV series that features Poho County and The Creeper. The script has been ready to shoot for a while now.
