Ryan Kavanaugh, the producer behind the upcoming Brothers, is currently overseeing the development of Stephen Norrington’s franchise reboot of The Crow.

He tells io9 that Norrington’s script is now in the tweaking stage and that everyone should know it is not a direct remake of the Brandon Lee-starring film. “We’re just relaunching it and making it with a much more present-day character, someone more relatable to everybody.”

The makeup will very much be different from The Crow visage we’ve come to know (and which has become a year-to-year Halloween costume favorite). Also, as far as casting goes, “It will be an actor you’ve heard of, yes. We’re not ruling anything out. We’re looking at both, with the very well-known and the ‘very talented but they may not be quite there yet.'”

Is Saw VII The Last?

Posted in Movie News, SAW Franchise with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 23, 2009 by crow237

Is it true? Well I hope so. I wish the would have stopped while they were on top. Saw VI is still one of the better sequels and a must see.

On November 20, 2009 in an interview, Patrick Melton (writer since Saw IV) said that he had a “strong feeling” that Saw VII would be the last film since Saw VI did poorly at the box office. VI‘s domestic total as of Nov. 22, 2009: $27,673,000 (Estimate). No word on foreign total yet.

Rambo V News

Posted in Movie News on November 19, 2009 by crow237

The story seems to change every few months. It was going to be about Rambo finding out he has a daughter and must save her from people. It was soon changed to Rambo hunting a super solider (now that sounds a lot like another movie, Universal Soldier). But on November 11, Stallone pretty much said the story has been switched back to the original story idea about Rambo crossing the border to rescue a girl who has been kidnapped.

Lets hope the go with the original story.

Saw Films Are Going How Far?

Posted in Movie News, SAW Franchise on November 19, 2009 by crow237

There are rumors of a part IX and X. But I don’t believe it will go that far. I was one of the people who thought in was going to end at VI. VIII will be the last, I hope. I also think they can still end it. If the unrated DVD (VI) ends just a bit different, it would be all over.

All copied by the way.

In spite of less than thrilling box office numbers (its current worldwide gross is still less than the last entry’s opening weekend with only $26 million), Twisted Pictures forges ahead with Saw VII in 3-D. And today, Lions Gate has claimed an October 22, 2010 release date.

Paranormal Activity is to blame for Saw VI‘s lackluster performance.

Returning to the director’s chair for the seventh entry is David Hackl with a script by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.
“The storyline that we started in V and carries through VI ends in Saw VIII,” says Burg. “Where it goes beyond that I couldn’t tell you. In my mind and Oren [Koules]’ mind, we have the story threaded through part VIII. I can’t tell you the franchise will continue after that.”

Star Trek (2009) Blu-ray

Posted in Movie News on November 18, 2009 by crow237

The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 17. I know its out already but that doesn’t mean I cant talk about it.

You all know I seen the film in theaters but that’s nothing compared to Blu-ray. It is by far the best Blu-ray film I’ve ever seen. And one of the best films of the year. Every B-R movie needs to be made like this one.

Still no Hogan. Where is he? But anyway, great PPV. Raven should have been on it.

Copied from the TNA website

Here are the results from Sunday’s “Turning Point” Pay-Per-View event:

– The Amazing Red (with Don West providing live commentary) defeated Homicide to retain the X Division Championship. After blocking a top rope hurricanrana attempt by Homicide, Amazing Red was able to hit his Code Red finisher for the win in the end. After the bout, West congratulated Red on the successful defense.

– Knockouts Champion ODB and Knockouts Tag Team Champions Taylor Wilde and Sarita defeated The Beautiful People after ODB got the win on Madison Rayne after a TKO.

– The British Invasion defeated Beer Money to retain the TNA Tag Team Championship. The bout saw Kevin Nash come out to take the Global Championship from Eric Young, then Nash nailed James Storm with the title on the outside of the ring, allowing The British Invasion to get the win over Robert Roode inside the ring.

– In a 6 Sixes of Steel cage match, Tara defeated Awesome Kong after a huge splash off the top of the structure for the pin. After powerbombing Kong from the ropes, Tara had her chance to climb out, but chose to finish off Kong with the big move for the victory!

– A video package aired highlighting Hulk Hogan joining TNA Wrestling, also featuring Eric Bischoff and TNA President Dixie Carter

– Rhino and Team 3D defeated The Pope, Hernandez and Matt Morgan. After tremendous six-man action, in the end Team 3D used a chair on Hernandez as he was attempting his Border Toss finisher, allowing Rhino to hit his GORE finisher on Hernandez to get the win!

– In a bloody, no-disqualification, Falls Count Anywhere battle, Scott Steiner was able to defeat Bobby Lashley. The bout went all over the arena, with Steiner eventually smashing Lashley at the Spanish Announce Table with a metal rod from the scaffolding for the win. After the chaotic match, Lashley pushed off paramedics and walked out on his own power, later saying that his war with Steiner downlowas far from over.

– In an amazing match, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle defeated British newcomer Desmond Wolfe. Each man went back and forth trading high-impact and submission moves, resulting in chants of “This Is Awesome!” from the fans in attendance. In the end, Wolfe managed to fight off Angle’s Ankle Lock submission, but ended up tapping out to Angle’s triangle choke! The Olympic Gold Medalist won the battle, but Wolfe proved without a shadow of a doubt that he is certainly a major force in TNA Wrestling!

– In a three-way classic, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles retained the TNA World Championship, beating Daniels and Samoa Joe. The bout may have surpassed their original epic battle in 2005, as the fans in the arena were in total amazement! Certainly, Match Of The Year material! In the end, Samoa Joe went for his Muscle Buster finisher, but Daniels hit his STO instead. Daniels hit the Best Moonsault Ever and went for the pin, but AJ Styles nailed a springboard 450 splash on Joe and Daniels. AJ tossed Daniels aside and got the pin on Joe to retain the World Title! Daniels was shocked that he lost by such a narrow margin, while Joe looked on in anger! AJ Styles celebrates as still the TNA World Heavyweight Champion!

Tune into Thursday’s “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV starting at 9/8c for the aftermath of the Pay-Per-View, plus more news on Hulk Hogan joining TNA Wrestling!

Spider-Man 4/Iron Man 2 Release Dates

Posted in Movie News on November 12, 2009 by crow237

Spider-ManĀ  4 will be out 5 May 2011. I think Spider-Man 2 was the best out of the series.

Now I love comic book movies…usually. There have been a few that are just plain stupid. Now I’m not going to give names or anything, (Watchmen). But never mind that.

Iron Man 2 will be out May 7, 2010. I loved the first film and so I’m really excited for this one.
